Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas celebrates a 50-year run with largest giveaway to date!

This year marks a special occasion for the multi-award-winning brand, a year in which Elounda anticipated sharing their celebratory success with key stakeholders, via a series of UK industry events.

However, as in the current climate this is just not feasible, Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas have realigned their strategy and are delighted to announce, the running of our biggest competition to date!

Throughout the five decades, the brand has enjoyed a plethora of achievements and special, memorable moments. Although too many to mention, we would like to share with you the most significant landmarks.

1971 marked the launch of the hotel, the debut of the first luxury hotel in the whole of Greece! In a short period of time, the property became the preferred choice for A-listers, UHNWI and Royalty, paving the way for Elounda to be recognised as one of the most sought-after locations globally.

1992 saw the hotel become a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, with the added distinction of being the first ever Greek island hotel to be included in this impressive portfolio, which is home to some of the most prestigious and award-winning hotels around the globe.

1995 became a moment of recognition, when Elounda Beach Hotel became the first hotel in Crete to launch private suites and villas with pools, of more than 40sqm. In this respect Elounda Beach continues to be a market leader, as it offers several waterfront 1,2 and 3-bedroom villas, all of which have private pools, heated on a complementary basis to 26-degrees.

1997 Elounda Beach Hotel and Villas was included for the first time in the Condé Nast Traveler Best Hotels in the World Gold List, an achievement that has been repeated several times after that.

2009 Innovation took the lead, with the introduction of the luxurious Yachting Villas, a unique concept for the Mediterranean which still, to this day, remains unrepeated. With Maserati leather spanning the walls, a retractable roof-top TV, cutting edge technology, and immersive indoor cinemas, it is no wonder the Yachting Villas have become a world-class favourite among the elite.

2009 continued to gain success, with the introduction of the Espace Vitalite Chenot Spa, the first of its kind in the era, outside of Italy. The spa adopts a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach, where powerful yet personalised treatments aim to detoxify the mind, aligning with the spa’s vision that - listening to your biological rhythm, is the first step to a universal harmony.

2017 That year saw the launch of the ongoing Waterfront Dreamline renovation program. 40 villas and bungalows have been fully renovated to the highest standard of excellence, adding a modern flare and bespoke ambience to guests’ experiences. Large wooden-deck verandas hover above the sea, privacy is at its peak and panoramic views provide the most idyllic sanctuary.  

Over the years, Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas has been awarded multiple accolades and distinctions, namely several inclusions in the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List, and countless wins at the World Travel Awards, including Greece’s Leading Hotel - for four consecutive years running (2017-2020)!

Yet, taking into account all credits to date, the proudest achievement for Elounda Beach is the continued support of our UK and Irish Partners, which has led Britain and Ireland becoming the number one source market for the hotel.

If you have not ventured to Crete yet, we look forward to receiving your submission on how you would love to visit the island. There is no right or wrong answer in this competition.
